Is that just DVD multi-region or Blu-Ray as well. I suspect it's just the former, hence the dearer price for the only Panny player I've seen which is multi-region for blu-ray as well.

From what I've read, they work fine. My main concern would be firmware upgrades though - is a new firmware upgrade going to remove any multi-region hack, or, worse still, potentially brick the player? You need to get some pretty cast iron guarantees and agreements from the retailer on this in case either of these things happen in my opinion.

I am sure you are right. DVD MR is a £10-20 upgrade - BD more like £100.
