I think my trusty Onkyo receiver has suffered a terminal fault but I would appreciate any views.
The centre speaker audibly hums when the receiver switches to 5.1 for Dolby, DTS etc. There is barely audible sound. I've swapped cables, swapped speakers, gone from banana plugs to binding bare speaker wire all with no improvement/change. I've checked the speaker setup in the receiver's settings and run a demo disc to check channels.
Have I missed anything?
On the basis that I haven't, what would be the recommendations when it comes to a replacement?
