Onkyo TX NR 616

Hi Team

I have managed to bag myself an Onkyo 616.While reading througn the manual,it said using banana plug for speakers is prohibited and I was wondering is this this a good practice.Does it have any negative effect of the sound production or the amp in general

Connections • 8 HDMI Inputs (1 on front panel) and 2 Outputs • Onkyo p for System Control • 4 Digital Inputs (2 Optical/2 Coaxial) • Component Video Switching (1 Input/1 Output) • Banana Plug-Compatible Speaker Posts * In Europe, using banana plugs to connect speakers to an audio amplifier is prohibited.
 
It's some sort of EU law after some idiot put power cables into the speaker terminal, just remove the bung and use a bannana plug you will be fine.
