Hi all, I'm looking to replace my Systemdek Transcription turntable after over 25 years, painted about 3 years ago as the nextel finish was starting to look worn.
I'm considering either pro ject 6 perspex superpack or Rega Planar 8 with Apheta 3 . One of my considerations is vibration isolation as the tt is upstairs so on floorboards and I'm often doing weights whilst playing the tt and whilst I'm not just dropping/smashing the weights down I'm very conscious of making the record skip. Has anyone got experience or opinions on either of these or any other options that would fit the bill, don't really want to spend more than £3k as I also need to buy a phono preamp (again any advice would be welcome)...

I'm not going to advise on turntables at the end of the day it's just a platter spinning around, but as far as isolation is concerned, which is probably more the issue you need to deal with. I'm using the iso acoustics indigo orea under my Avid ingenium turntable with great effect, my turntable is in the living room and we have floorboards /carpet, when my wife walks past the turntable (without even a hint of tiptoe or light footed-ness) the cartridge would jump a couple of times, after installing the iso acoustics....not a jump, wobble or anything, the Avid ingenium also has large Sorbothane padded feet which might also be advantageous....just something to consider along with a new turntable if it doesn't happen to have it's own suspension system.

Just looked at the isoacoustics feet you mentioned skinnypuppy71, I did wonder if something like this could be a viable solution so thanks for the recommendation they look spot on.
