Sorry John, i am a bit of a numpty with computers, in laymans terms please. Thanks

What kind of computer (Mac/PC/??), which internet browser software (eg Firefox/Google Chrome/Safari/Internet Explorer?), and if possible which version (eg Internet Explorer 8 or whatever).

That info helps us replicate and if possible eliminate the problem.
Sorry Andrew can see you now. Details are= PC Windows7 Internet Explorer 64-bit. If that makes any sense
Also i think IE9

The seeing/not seeing thing is, I think, due to the way the site refreshes, and may also have something to do with cacheing on your computer - ie it stores pages and reloads them for speed, rather than pulling them down from the interweb afresh every time.

But thanks for the info, hopefully it'll help JD investigate.

I would pull my hair out if i had any

Try using FIREFOX instead johnny (like IE, but I much prefer firefox)
Cache, firefox, i,ll go and get a knife, see if that helps me pull my scalp out. Tried to insert smiley but to no avail

I took a few days off work to catch up with paperwork, play guitar, like to browse the forums and chill. No chance of that. Still no smiley iether

To make your browser – Internet Explorer – reload a page completely rather than relying on its cache, press the f5 key on your keyboard.

To clear the cache,

1 In Internet Explorer...

2 Press the "ALT" button on your keyboard.

3 Click on the "TOOLS" menu.

4 In the drop down menu, locate and click on "Delete Browsing History." This will open another window titled "Delete Browsing History."

5 In the "Delete Browsing History" window, locate and select the "Temporary Internet Files."

6 At the bottom of the "Delete Browsing History" window, locate and click on the "Delete" box.

7 After a short while, depending on how long since the cache was last cleared, the computer will indicate that the files have been deleted. Click on the "Okay" button when you see the "Internet Options" box.

Update:

Forum - improve font of user name.
Forum - change date format
Forum - latest posts - headline font
Forum - formatting for subforums (eg Headphones and turntables in hifi) (partly - Shows amalgamated into one forum)
Forum - landing (eg Hi fi) - remove 'updated'
Forum - landing (eg Hi fi) - remove '[##] new' Will not fix (it's actually quite useful)

Hi,

At the time of writing, AE is showing as online - the 'blob' is green. All offline users show as grey.

New issue - When I try to reply, I have to resize the text box before I can type.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Flag as offensive is a bit of a poor name for the Report function.

what should we do about duplicate posts (which there seem to be a lot of happening on the new site) what about SPAM? I dont find either "offensive" but would like to report them........ 😉

Can you say buggy? Not quite ready for prime time. 1000 bugs to go I'd say. No biggee. I'm sure you'll get it sorted before Christmas. 🙂

Thank you for your encouraging words.

I think you're splitting semantic hairs now.
