Or do WHF need to flag it up a bit more clearly by renaming it as the "Let's be rude to each other" forum?

Frankly, I'm sick of it.

I completely agree. But if someones rude to me then i'll be rude back.

So far this week ive had all these pulled into question ~

My age

My job

My sanity

My hearing

My eyesight

My ability to read........

and people wonder why I retaliate?

If people actually studied these (for want of a better word) 'conversations', they'd realise its nearly always the 'sceptics' that talk down to everyone to begin with like theyre some sort of superior beings. That anyone that thinks any different (Including the WHF team as they review most of what are questioned) are simply 'wrong' just because they say so.

If everyone just voiced their opinions WITHOUT having to put other people down in the process this forum would be so much better.

AKL:

Graham_Thomas:Kevin Stephens:given the choice between spending £100 on mains cables or 6-7 new CDs I know which I would choose My, those are expensive CDS! I would expect 12 for that....

Ah, but they are not just any CDs, they are Marks & Spencer's CDs ......

well I guess full price well recorded classical CDs or interesting non chart rock CDs at £14:50 a pop are a real rip off compared to bargeain gold plated kettle leads

. Marks and Spencer? Can't afford to shop there - spent my money on CDs and stuff to play them on

Sorry Rick, I know you have helped me in the past and I appreciate it, but this thread has gone the same way as the last one. One of the reasosn for that is down to other posters seeing that you are easily wound up and fall for provocation too easily, so they have a go at you. I also think that, IMHO that your REALLY annoying your HABIT of over stressing your points by shouting winds others up and apologies if I have got that wrong.

Your response about having measured cables is really interesting. Please give more information about that. What did you use? How did you use it? Please share the science.

Thanks

matthewpiano:slewis:I can see andrew coming with the big key.I hope so. These threads that deteriorate into slanging matches are becoming too much of a recurring theme.

I couldn't agree more.

Unfortunately, I think it's the fault of those who haven't tried it as they just can't get it into their heads that it makes a difference. When I, and many others, have clearly and continue to clearly hear it. Yet all I hear is 'placebo', 'can't', 'doesn't make sense'.

There are a lot of things that don't make sense in this world, including those who have not experienced something making a blind judgement.

Suck it and see is what I say, and then come on here to refute all claims if that's what you find. At least then you will have some credibility rather than just an obstinence.ÿ

Clearly every hifi mag is wrong. According to some.ÿ

Joel, you posted this thread. You've also posted another thread on cables, I notice.

I responded twice to your original post, as have others, but so far you haven't bothered to respond to those comments.

Whether you like it or not, the reality is that most people don't care about mains cables and just use what comes in the box. You'll find that there are zero threads posted by them, and that by far the majority of threads on cables are posted by people such as yourself who believe thay can change the sound and who are passionate about it. That's fine, but then don't knock the the majority or ignore the points they make. You risk being accused of hypocrisy.

I partially agree with that and I think in future ill just completely ignore them. They bore me to hell anyways

Interesting that everyone appears to think its all my fault! Should I just allow myself to be spoken to rudely everytime?

erm...which part of measuring do you speak of? The tv?

Rick, people don't think it's all your fault at all, it's just you're so passionate in your defence of all things cable. In fact, You're nearly the only person on the mains cable makes a difference side who attempts to back up their findings with research.

I'd also be interested to see your measurements - they were in reference to cable effects on ty, were they not?ÿ

No Joel.

Offensiveness is the fault of those who write offensively, irrespective of their position in this debate.

Is it just possible that you 'set the tone' of what was to come with this comment in your intitial post?....

JoelSim:Anyway, until you've tried it, please refrain from comments.

It was (at the very least) challenging.

There have been many occasions when you have (quite rightly) passed comment and given your opinion on the subject of computer sourced music and streaming and downloads vs traditional CD replay.

I do not recall you ever saying you were going to try it for yourself to compare with CD replay from your Arcam CD player.

I could be wrong but please correct me if that is untrue.

Thanks
