My favourite live album is -

Live After Death by Iron Maiden.

Beautifully recorded and the band are at the absolute height of their powers.

Another great live favourite is -

Live In The City Of Light by Simple Minds.

Not the greatest recording, but the most viscerally exciting live album I have heard is -

Live At Brixton Academy by Faith No More (and we were in the crowd!!)

I can heartily advise stearing clear of Michael Schenker Group - Rock will never Die. Recorded at the Hammy O over two nights in October 83, I was at the first night and he could barely stand he was so drunk, Gary Barden wasn't much better. By the end the place was almost empty, yet made it onto a live album!

Frampton Comes Alive - Peter Frampton

Already ordered one mint copy of this album on ebay for £4,99!

Not wishing to put a downer on your purchase (which is a very good album BTW) but I too have ordered "mint" copies off Ebay in the past, but my idea of mint differed quite considerably from the seller.

Mint should be according to Ebays own definition..

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Fingers crossed.

That's good to hear.

My Ebay experiences with regards vinyl have generally been very good too, as I say just the odd one or two where the seller has been a little bit economical with the truth where the condition was concerned.

Having said that, I've bought brand new LPs before now (eg. Dust Bowl - Joe Bonamassa) where the surface noise was intolerable and subsequently returned for replacement.

There's a lot to be said for CDs

A massive +1 for The Who live at Leeds!! :rockout:

A superb performance.

A superb recording.

A superb band.

I'm my opinion THE greatest live LP released.

I've bought a CD in a second hand market yesterday, and indeed this is a very good decord!

Trying to find one in vinyl now!

Yesterday, I listened to Flaming Lips "Yoshimi battles the pink robots" - there's applause on it, so if this is live, then must be up there with the best?

I've bought this album along side with Genesis Seconds on ebay, should arrive today.

It were albums that i wanted to buy in my youth and never had the money, as i had to make some choices... We all do back then....

A good live one always whacks a good studio one, in no particular order :

Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus

Weather Report 8:30

Lou Reed - Rock N Roll Animal

I was treating the neighbours to the latter only this weekend :bounce:
