Home cinema set-up - connection issues

I have recently bought a Sony 32" LCD, to which I want to connect the following equipment:

Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V800RDS

Denon dvd/cd player DVD-1730

Can anybody please recommend the optimum method to cable these up?
