I am thinking of buying one of the above. Any reason I should pay Russ Andrews GBP175 for the priviledge when I can get the same at USD199 (incl. postage)? I have a US-UK courier so that isn't an issue.

Any thoughts on why I should pay such a premium to Russ Andrews for the same product?

Apart from your warranty being worthless, and the power supply needing to be replaced, no. The latter would worry me more than the former.

You could buy direct from Firestone http://www.firestone-audio.nl/shop/allproductslisted/cutebeyond.php and that works out at £123. There are official US sellers, so you will get a warranty with them, just make sure they know it is for the UK. Otherwise as JD says caveat emptor.

Power supply is 110/240 so shouldn't be an issue - subject to plug / cable replacement.

Is a legitimate US seller - although exchange rate is better buying direct from Firestone. Good mark-up from Russ Andrews.
