I have seen a listing on ebay for this machine and it's currently priced at £515. Apparently it sold for £2700 when it first came out. Is this a bargain worth giving a go? Apparently it's in brand new condition.

Andrew's got his Gramophone hat on today - as well as a smart suit - and is at their awards ceremony. Sure he'll be back on here later, though....

The opinion of the rest of the WHF jury is that while the A1 was a corker in its time, specs have moved on mightily in the five years since it was released. So unless it's one of the more updated A1 models (A1 XVA), you're buying a seriously outdated piece of kit. Save your money for a more modern model is our advice.

Have to agree with Clare and the review crew regarding the passage of time not being too kind to this machine, excellent though it was in its day.
