Just got some slate place-mats and shoved them under some bits of hifi, the coasters went under the TT and the others under the phono stage. Sounds a lill’ more delicate in presentation with clearer high end detail (insert your caveat of choice). Not bad for 2 quid.

Try placing the little soborthane blobs under the mats, further help for a few quid. Seen them on most hifi retailer sites. I've used then under tt's, powers supplies and phono amps to good effect, no snake oil here.
