Bset way to get FLAC on NAS to Pc as MP3?

What software is availalbe to convert FLAC files stored on a NAS and transport to PC as an MP3? Or even, what would be the best solution?

I have 500G of FLACs and have 320GB of space on my PC, but will still need space for expansion.

OS is Linux (Ubuntu 11.04)

I also need to have the artwork transferred somehow.

Foobar2000 will do this, but why not just buy another hard drive (internal or USB external)? They're pretty cheap.
