So the listing referred to by the company in question was wrong then? BigH is stating what he saw in black and white and he is correct.

I don't expect that they'll publish the correct figures in the future though, do you?

I checked an £800 Naim and an £800 Audiolab product, and the figures definitely weren't 100%, even after settlement.

Well said Drummerman,

People should feel free to recommend any kit that they own or have at least heard. After all, I have made a demo short list of some of my kit based on folks opinions here and on other forums.

If some people claim that their kit is the best then I would personally just smile because it all comes down to personal taste. If any newbies looking at this thread are put off, then my advice is to demo as much as you can, be confident with your choice. You don't need to justify your purchase to anyone but yourself (or maybe the Mrs!)

I would respect anyone who posts on why they like their kit, rather than make claims to being the best. I'm actually going to demo my brother's ADM9s soon as a potential second system. I would join HDD to seek some opinions but I think if it became known I have a black box with Naim on I would be flamed!

Life is too short to get hung up on arguments, especially based around electrical goods. Me, I just want to listen to music and enjoy it

Cheers, Nick

Nick, You absolutely would not get flamed at all. Most people have been down various hifi roads and have owned Naim and all sorts of other stuff and some still do. The only time you get flamed or kicked off is if you deliberately post to be a pain in the bottom. Ash insists that people treat each other with respect. He even encourages people who do or are going to manufacture a competitor product to join in the forum, eg Moos.

Come on in, join up and have a civilised communication with other hifi[and other passtimes] lovers.

I like this message.

Yes, we're a bit new. Yes, we seem a bit outrageous in some of our claims, but YES!!! We'VE MOVED THE SCIENCE 'ON'!!!

You can have it "all" now; small boxes, big transients, sweet tops, solid bass... NO COMPROMISE (save for 88dB@1W, but max 200W+).

Google us.

I'm sorry for drawing more attention to the rule breakingly blatant self promotion going on 🙂)) - but your frequency response doesn't look particularly flat. Was that in room or anechoic?

Then perhaps you need to renegotiate. 😉

Hey, this thread asked for all-comers with any suggestions. I'm just following forum policy.

The measurements are in-room with an XTZ Pro II system. U can see three clear room nodes in the bass, but look how controlled and extended-without-humping the bass actually is... into subsonic.

Worried about profit margins of our hifi shops?? Go buy from Currys they operate on a charitable basis. Tescos dont make profits either. And now blatent rules flaunting. This is an ugly thread. Seconds out ......

Blatant self promotion, what about the company you work for?

Jon, what make of tweeters and woofers do you use, and what sizes are they?

The house rules don't need discussion...

Neither shall trade members use the forums to encourage members to contact them for special offers or advantageous pricing. Whathifi.com offers a range of advertising opportunities that can be used to promote relevant products and services - click on Contact Us for more information.

12. Trade members, dealers, manufacturers and their PRs must not use the forums to blatantly 'promote' products they sell or distribute.

OP was quite clear. I can honestly say: "Buy ours, because they are the best. Check us out!!!", cuz that's the advice they asked for. Oh, and at the size and price-point, it's true!

Theres some stiff competition out there - that's a bold claim! 🙂

Big H - there are a few 'traders' here who are well known to us. I dont think any of them , inc David, who blatently promote their businesses. I for one would steer clear of any who did. However, many recofnise their experience and value their advise. I admit to buying from 'Frank' and would do so again but whilst not wishing to fight his corner, he doesnt need my weight, I would suggest that some comments aimed at him have been grossly unfair. This is my opinion. Other vendors appear to be blatently advertising

I was referring to linking in the signature, which I believe WHF doesn't allow. I'm not sure they'll allow them to link to their own website either, but I'm sure if they don't they'll do something about that.

EDIT: as Chebby says

Almost 10,000 posts, and I'm still here, so I'm not breaking any rules 🙂

Hi BigH

The tweeters are Visaton and the woofers are a 8 Ohm, 6.5", 850gm Magnet, PP cone. What makes them special is the Acoustic Induction bass loading system we've developed.

(sigh)

JonAlacrityA. Whilst you as a manufacturer are very welcome, I do feel that your posts and signature are in breach of house rules about blatant self-promotion, which many other vendors and manufacturers manage to avoid. Can you first amend your signature to remove the website link please. I'll take a view on whether I can be bothered to Mod the rest after I've had my tea...
