Ive read in a number of different threads that, since the announcement from Pioneer that production of Kuros will cease towards the latter half of this year, demand for the screens has grown exponentially. Having ordered my TV over 2 months ago I am now seriously questioning whether I will ever receive the thing. Ive paid a deposit - but can any body tell me whether this 'guarantees' that I will receive a TV or can the shop simply turn around and say that they cannot fulfill the order? What complicates matters is that I bought the TV at the pre April 1st prices and so cynically can foresee the shop selling my TV at a lot higher price then I agreed.

does anybody know what current stock levels are of Pioneer KRP500A - as quite a few UK stockists are still awaiting orders...

This is why as soon as I realised my local dealer had one I slapped a deposit on it and paid in full a few weeks later.

Would it really annoy you to hear it's STILL in the shop while I faff around sorting out a stand and where I'm going to move all my gear to?

hi,

i ordered mine from a retailer and it was only when i questioned them on monday that they admitted that actually they could not get one as pioneer sent out a memo stating that the last batch had been sent to the uk and it was a first come first served scenario. i was not impressed but after numerous phone calls managed to get my hands on one..good luck

2 months? That seems quite a long time. We've not waited any longer than 4 weeks for them over the past 4 months, with some deliveries being 2 or 3 weeks, so not sure what your delay is. The only thing I can think of is that the stock is on allocation, so reputable dealers are more likely to get this stock. I'm not insinuating anything about where you may have ordered from as I don't know who they are, but it might be worth checking their credentials and whether or not they are a recognised Pioneer outlet.

If you've placed a deposit at an agreed price, that price is guaranteed - as long as they can actually get you one of course.

Hi guys,

I'm a bit concerned to hear & read about the limited availabilty of the KRP-500A's.Especially since i've only recently put down a deposit for one.

My intention was to splash-out on one after my wedding around Dec./Jan.,only to be told i'd be lucky to get hold of a brand-new one after Aug./Sept.So,i've ripped up my original plan, decided to dip a little into my Hi-Fi budget & put a deposit down towards the order.

I can only hope my dealer manages to get hold of one before stocks are completely exhausted.

I also briefly saw or discussed prospects for an audition of the latest upper mid-range Denon(DVD-3800BD & DVD-2500BT) & Pioneer(BDP-LX52 & BDP-LX91) Blue-ray players & transports.

Although,i'd seriously consider the Denon DVD-A1UD(which has SACD,Blue-ray,DVD-V,DVD-A,HDCD,CD & MP3 playback capabilities) - if their asking price was within my price bracket.I understand current SRP is around the £3500- mark.

I'd appreciate anyone sharing their own experiences with these manufacturers & AV components.Particularly regarding how much added functionality i'd have by having an all Pioneer AV system(display,player,processor/receiver).And how much of that functionality i'd lose if i were to include a Classe or Denon component.

Thanks.

BABUR.
