Assistance on connections to Yamaha Digital Sound Projector (YSP40D)

ANY assistance with this enquiry would be greatly appreciated - I am unable to adjust the volume on the YSP40D remote control when operating the DVD recorder & therefore assume that my connections are maybe incorrect/need adjusting:-

TOSHIBA XF355D TV - HDMI-1 cable to Panasonic DMR-EZ27 DVD recorder (HDMI AV OUT)

HDMI-2 cable to Yamaha YSP40D (HDMI OUT)

HDMI-3 (no connections)

Optical cable also fitted between TV & YSP40D

Sky HD box HDMI to YSP40D (AUX-1)

Nothing going into DVD IN on Yamaha YSP40D

Scart cable fitted AV2 EXT on DVD recorder to VCR/DVD SCART on Sky HD Box

Yamaha YST-FSW100 sub woofer also fitted to the above system

Hi Mike Pallin, I have had some tech problems with this site so hence the late reply. On my setup. The HDMI Lead should be connected to the Out on the Yamaha and the HDMI input of your TV. The DVD Recorder should have a HDMI lead from its Output to the DVD in on the Yamaha and your Sky box HDMI is set up correctly. My Scart Lead is connected from the Sky Box direct to the TV. My optical lead is not set up correctly to get the 5.1 sound from Sky HD as mine goes from Sky Box straight to the TV. It should go from the Sky box direct to the Yamaha TV/STB input not forgetting the phono leads from the sky box to the TV/STB input on the Yamaha. Hopefully this should work for you.
