Good plan. Unfortunately my nearest is 32 miles away.

Al, you are obviously not taking this vinyl business seriously *mosking*

I do take it very seriously indeed but financially diligent. I could buy another album for what it costs me in diesel to get there and back, so tinternet will suffice until I actually have reason to attend said town. Where upon it the credit card does tend to get hammered. ;-)

For those of a sensitive nature, that is!

I was idling around www.eil.com. checking out rare vinyl, and in the "Audiophile" section, I was.... shocked/horrified.... etc to find this:

'The Nolans - Dancing Sisters EP - Sealed'
The Nolans Dancing Sisters EP - Sealed Japanese 10" vinyl
THE NOLANS Dancing Sisters (1980 Japanese 6-track 10" vinyl EP from 'Five Fresh & Fruity Gals', housed in an 8-page 'hardback book' style gatefold sleeve with integral booklet featuring lyrics & a colour centrefold image. This copy is factory sealed from new & complete with the top obi-strip 22.3P-222)

£30

Now I know why hi fi was invented...... ! ;)

It seems everywhere is selling records now. Just been to an antique centre with my wife, and found this in really nice condition for £3.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd)

I pre-ordered several different limited edition copies of the new Bowie album, so in total I would get 9 Lithographs. Warners have sent the Lithographs early, but the packaging for such a limited edition item wasn't good enough, and 6 out of the 9 have arrived damaged (2 of each one). I've contacted Warners, and they say that they don't have any replacements for one of them, though they are looking into obtaining some, and will let me know. I'm presuming I'm not the only one that has received damaged Lithographs.

Did anyone here order this, and did it arrive safely?

Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas.

Received The Beatles Mono box set and Johnny Marr Adrenalin Baby (Pink Vinyl) both Christmas presents from my wife. Can't wait to play them.

Popped into town and checked out the sale. At least 20% off everything - pretty good! Snapped up a few records:

Wolf Alice – My Love Is Cool
Mogwai – Zidane o.s.t. (just a tenner!)
Patty Griffin – Servant of Love
Grime – Art Angels
Lucy Ward – I Dreamt I Was a Bird...

Just under £70 the lot. Bargain!

Will clean and play tomrrow.

Not so much bought as Christmas presents

The Wailers - Burnin'

Bob Marley & the Wailers - Natty Dread

The Jesus & Mary Chain - Barbed Wire Kisses

Mogwai - Central Belters

Nicely suprised with the packaging for all these. They all come in paper sleeves that are poly-lined keeping away the static.

With Natty Dread the vinyl came in such a sleeve but also separately was the 'original' inner sleeve, nice idea keeping faith with the original but also keeping it hifi friendly!

As for the Mogwai, this is a 6 album box set. From the pics I had seen each one came in a different colour sleeve. They did, a cardboard outer sleeve then the aforementioned inner sleeves, nice! Looking forward to spending New Year's Day giving all six discs a spin.

If not been in for a while to the local used record store "vinyl underground" in Barnsley.

Found two Flotsam and jetsam albums, and Anthrax Spreading the Disease, 22 quid for the three, all in vg-n/mint condition.

Very happy with my finds.

Went charity shopping again.

Bought 10 albums for a pound, some were interesting, but it's not really worth the effort of listing them all.
