I drove over 50 miles this morning to go to two car boot's, and came home with nothing. *nea*

I then drove a bit further this afternoon to go to a few charity shops, and again came home with nothing. *nea* *nea*

Sometimes it is like that. Just one seller with some good vinyl can be the difference between a great day and a waste of time.

There is a large indoor one on Sundays near us but you need to get there early. Sellers start arriving to set up at 2am! They let buyers in from 5am I think. 7 is the earliest I have ever arrived there.

Managed to get into town today for the first time in ages. Picked up a copy of RoseauSalt which had been put by for me, and snapped up a copy of Joanna Newsom's new album, Divers, which was just being unpacked. Good news for those of you who aren't infuriated by her voice: the pressing of this LP is a lot better than that of Have One On Me.

I've heard quite a bit of her stuff on 6 Music. It's not the voice I struggle with, though it does grate sometimes, it's that some of her stuff sounds more like Kate Bush than Kate herself.

I wasn't buying vinyl today.....but my daughter was......for my Christmas.....jeff Buckley's my sweetheart the drunk.at last, can't wait.

And now you have to wait 2 months to play it, unless you find out where she's hidden it. From experience, wardrobes and the attic are the favoured places for hiding Xmas presents. *biggrin*

Not advertising or anything, but I've stuck a job lot of records up for sale tonight.

They're 75% records I had 2 or more copies of, and 25% stuff I picked up that I don't really want.

It is hard letting go, but I'm trying to raise funds for a possible new tv, new cartridge..........or maybe even more records. *biggrin*

so managed to buy a few, some from charity shops, and some from a second-hand record store.

Gerry Rafferty - 'Night Owl'

The Alan Parsons Project - 'Pyramid'

Jean Michel Jarre - 'Magnetic Fields'

Thin Lizzy - 'Bad Reputation'

Seal - 'Seal'

Delius - 'In A Summer Garden'

I was quite pleased to pick up a Nick Drake CD, 'Five Leaves Left'. Been meaning to get it for ages.

Oh yes, I saw a copy of 'Abbey Road' for £35 (in good condition), was tempted...

Well, I went to work on Monday in someone's house, and I noticed a load of records boxed up in the bedroom. I asked the guy if he still played them, and he told me he wanted someone to buy the lot and take them away. Well, I had a good look through, and amongst the good, was a lot of bad. There must have been 250 plus, but he wanted over £300 for the lot, which I thought was a bit steep.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I worked on him a bit over the next few days, and managed to convince him to sell me just a few of what he had for £50.

Talking Heads - The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads

Talking Heads - Little Creatures

Talking Heads - Remain In Light

Allman Brothers - Brothers and Sisters

Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach

Joni Mitchell - Hejira

Joni Mitchell - Wild Things Run Fast

Grace Jones - Livng My Life

Grace Jones - Muse

Bill Nelson - The Love That Whirls (Diary Of A Thinking Heart)

Icicle Works - Icicle Works

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

Bob Dylan - Infidels

Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Confrontation

Stevie Wonder - Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants

Thomas Dolby - The Flat Earth

Herbie Hancock - Future Shock

Soundtrack - Countryman

Little Feat - Sailin' Shoes

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - The Message

Kid Creole & The Coconuts - Doppleganger

Kid Creole & The Coconuts - Fresh Fruit In Foreign Places

Kid Creole & The Coconuts - Tropical Gangsters

Not the greatest collection, but I'm happy with the Talking Heads, Bob Marley and Grandmaster Flash LPs, and the good thing is, the records are virtually unplayed, as he used to tape them as soon as he bought them.
