Loved the film ex machina.

Picked up John Carpenters last offering when it came out. Remimded me a lot of vangellis meets Dario Argento film soundtracks with that eponymous metal band that I can never remember the name of.

I think it's something of a genre I might start to explore !

Just like MrTeroo, I too have an addiction, one that I just can't shake.

New Order - Power Corruption & Lies

Cocteau Twins - Garlands

John Keating - Space Experience

Bradford - Shouting Quietly

Joe Jackson - Night And Day

Jo Jones Trio - Jo Jones Trio

Buddy Rich - The Driver

Various - Drum Night At Birdland

Is there a better feeling than hearing the lady in the charity shop say " Oh, we've just had some new ones in. They're in the back, would you like to look at them?"

Last thing I heard about him was that he was an expert on The Alamo of all things.

He's everyone's whipping boy our Phil. He's fine by me (up to & including Wind & Wuthering)

And if I ever meet that nasty guitar player from Led Zep I'll have a word or two to say to him for picking on Phil at Live Aid :)

Got myself 3 LP's at a record fare yesterday in Killarney, 1. Nirvana's Nevermind. 2. Sex Pistols Never Mind the Bollox and 3. The B52's album The B52's. 3 very different albums. All fantastic in their own way.

Wassup with the Phil Collins bashing? I happen to think that he's a terrific drummer, just listen to 'Cinema Show'. I also think that he's a pretty good singer, not a great voice, but a good singer. I suppose success is a bad thing?

I think it's more the case that he has sung and played drums (however well) on some appalling rubbish over the years. He might be an excellent musician but he appears to have terrible taste and to enjoy inflicting that on the public.

It makes me wonder why people feel the need to voice such opinions*. Maybe it makes them feel better about themselves?

* I am not affiliated to Mr P. Collins. *biggrin*

I think the Gorilla in the advert was as good as, if not slightly better than Phil on the drums..... ;-) Lolz

No car boots today, so went round my local charity shops again. One of them has absolutely loads of records, probably close to 2000, but it's absolutely chaotic, with loads of records without sleeves and sleeves without records. I spent quite a bit of time in their today, trying to match records and sleeves, with only very moderate success.

I ended up spending £6 in total, and came away with:

Van Morrison - Into The Music

Bob Dylan - At Budokan

Gene Krupa & His Orchestra - The Big Band Sound Of

New Order - Ceremony 12"

Wire - It's Beginning To And Back Again (In the cover of Wire 'Kidney Bingo' 12")

Ivor Cutler - Peel Sessions (No cover)

Slowdive - Morningrise 12" (No cover)

Sandy Nelson - Walkin' Beat

Black Uhuru - Black Uhuru

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells (2nd pressing)

I'm going to Amsterdam on Friday for a few days, and wondered if any of you have been record shopping there, and if so, which shops to go to?

Been spinning escape New York 180g reissue - fantastic
I haven't read too much about his upcoming one, but I know one of the tracks is a collaboration with Mike Oldfield, which sounds pretty good.
