Could you ask him if he's ever considered relocating to Milton Keynes? :)

BBB, I only got through about 8 boxes and my fingers were getting numb - this was just the SALE £1 LPs that were all priced at 50p - I love it in there - always new punters browsers/buying telling the owner how they are loving vinyl on there budget Rega/Project decks.

Not forgetting the regular price stuff - jesus there is loads - you go to (for example) Kate Bush, he will have about 15 copies of Hounds of Love, 10 copies of The Kick Inside all sorted nicely and priced very fairly, Same for Led Zep, Beatles, Queen etc etc you get the picture? So much stuff in there, its good as Ikea is round the corner so I drop missus and kids off for a few hours and go record shopping!

I will let you know what gems I uncover tomorrow!

Talking of budget Pro-ject decks, I've been watching some Debut IIIs on eBay, and today one finished at £200, without any description of condition or anything. So I've (almost) decided mine's going, and I'm going to put the funds towards a pair of Dali Zensor 3s, and a Vokal centre. I'm going to sell all my Q Acoustics speakers too (apart from the sub), then use my Mordaunt Short 20i Pearl Editions (that are boxed in the attic) as rears for the surround system for now.

Yeah, let me know more about the record shopping.

Yesterday I picked up Graveyard - Lights Out Last week I ordered a handfull of records instore at HMV fully expecting none of them to turn up. However this one did, after staff discount it set me back £11.90. Had a listen today and it sounds great, only problem is that the gatefold sleeve is far too tight to actually fit the record in

New Vinal has that problem some time with 180Gram , Ultravox's Brilliant is the same except you fight with the Cardboard inner sleeves and it's a struggle believe me.

three for a pound at the charity shop. Never had any idea about Dave Brubeck before but I'm ready to hear more!

Supposed to be reigning in the record shopping as we're moving house in 3 weeks but one more can't hurt. Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats - Blood Lust. On very lovely clear/red half and half vinyl, £14 after staff discount from HMV.

Boards Of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest

BBB, what do ya think

Yes, do tell :)

(although BoC do take a few listens to get into for first timers - not that I'm implying BBB is a first timer to BoC) :)

I have "Music Has A Right..." on CD, so I'm not new to them.

I haven't played the album yet, for some reason when I got home, I put on a Royksopp CD which I bought today at Poundland.

I also realised that Royksopp are not the band I thought they were, as I thought they used to be on the Warp label, nevertheless, it's not a bad album, and definitely worth a quid.

I'll get back to you about BOC.

Steve

I saw this http://www.dr.loudness-war.info/ linked to on another post, and I thought it could be useful for finding out best pressings etc.

It is mainly about cd releases, but there are vinyl releases on there too.

Just noticed on Facebook that they are having a £1 clearance day tomorrow so might come out with more than expected fingers crossed.

Popped into Brighton to pick up some orders

The Clash box set of all albums mmmmm

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things

Warpaint - Warpaint

Also had a delivery in the post

Neil Young - Live At The Cellar Door

Television - Marquee Moon

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

As an aside I picked up a Graham Slee Era Gold V from eBay, new open boxed. Thought would give it a go, if I don't like it I should be able to get my money back. So far it is nicer than the phono input of the A80 and still needs some burn in, fuller bass and everything holds together better.

hope to spend some quality time tomorrow but I am on call so will see how things pan out.
