Picked up a new 180gm pressing of 'Argus' by Wishbone Ash today from Fopp for £12. Sounds like a superb pressing but unfortunately this one is a bit warped and it almost makes me seasick looking at it! Hope they can get me another copy as I really want this. Sound wise it leaves all the CD versions I've heard for dead.

Would that be Fopp in Manchester MP? I presume that is their only copy, otherwise I'd have a bit of that for £12.

.

Yeah, they only had the one copy in stock. I'm hoping they will be able to get me a straighter replacement! Quite a bit of vinyl in there at present.

Came across a great shop in Huddersfield called 'Vinyl Tap' on Friday and walked out with 9 second hand LPs in great condition including 'Crime of the Century' by Supertramp, and albums by BJH, Stevie Nicks, America, Kate Bush, Linda Thompson, Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville, and Abba.

Great Aladdin's Cave of a shop. Will definitely be making a return visit. Highly recommended.

Do you know, I have driven past that shop in my van every day for the last 9 months meaning to call in whenever I get a chance. Now you have said what you have MP, I am definitely going to find time sooner rather than later now. There is quite a good hifi shop just round the corner too, Audiovation I believe its called.

Twoism, In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country, and Trans Canada Highway - Boards Of Canada

I remember buying IABPOITC when it came out and playing it at the wrong speed for about 3 years.

"come out and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country..." One of their best releases, at 33 or 45!

We were over in the area for a John Lees' BJH gig at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth on Saturday night so thought we'd have a look at Huddersfield on Friday afternoon. Liked the place very much, and came upon Vinyl Tap completely by chance. The ground floor holds new vinyl and CDs, but the real goodies are to be found in the basement where there is loads of second hand vinyl - LPs, 12-inch singles, and 7-inch singles.

We were at the Picturedrome the Saturday before, to watch the Walter Trout Blues Splash. What a great venue, if you're like me and have given up on any more arena gigs. The added bonus was that we were staying in the adjacent hotel overnight , so literally a 10 yard walk back to the bar/bed when it was all over.

Yesterday i ordered Red Fang - Whales and Leeches in store at HMV.

I work in store so staff discount makes this just under £12 but i did it more as a test just to see how long it takes to turn up (or if ir does at all). We're not one of the stores large enough for a dedicated section but maybe it is feasible to special order instead.

Well Red Fang still hasn't arrived but i did order Los Campesinos! - No Blues on the 5th and it arrived on Tuesday. Looks like ordering in store is only for the patient,

Oddly, it doesn't sound like a silly and blatant mistake!

Not really shopping but a few records have been added to the collection. My manager has cleared out the last of his record collection and he gifted a few to me. These are from his second love affair with vinyl in the late 90s/early 00s, i say love affair but he can't have liked it that much as most of them are still sealed.

Mogwai - My Father My King

Prince and the Revolution - Purple Rain

The Datsuns - S/T

The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust

The Verve - Singles (4 x 12")
