Went to a record fair at Spitafields Market, but bought nothing. Then went to Sister Ray in Berwick Street, preferred it when it was Selectadisc, but it's still pretty awesome, though a bit pricey.

Came away with The Cramps - A Date With Elvis

We were supposed to have a day at the V&A museum, but never got there.

Well today I got from my local independent store:

Joy Division - Closer 180g reissue

Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express (this is the Capitol release and sounds fantastic unlike my reissue from Amazon)

Tangerine Dream - Sumner in Nagasaki 2x180g this lp is absolutely bloody fantastic, the sq and production is immense I can't stop playing it / this is my first adventure into Tangerine Dream, I couldn't resist it was only a tenner seamed & mint

Was Kraftwerk an original?

Never heard Tangerine Dream, they've recorded quite a lot of albums haven't they?

It's Neu, Can and Kraftwerk for me as far as German prog/krautrock goes, but I might try them out on Spotify or something.

Bbb it's got me thinking re : Trans Europe express gonna have a look on discogs but the cover is the original different to the amazon

Me and my other half have just returned from our jollies in California and Vegas, and managed to find a bit of time to do some vinyl shopping in San Francisco (Rasputin's) and Vegas (Record City). Positive treasure troves for any vinyl lover

However it's not just the UK where new vinyl is extortionately priced, but I managed to pick up a few decent 2nd hand LPs at good prices which I've yet to play.

Record Fair today, bought Pixies-Doolittle original, and nearly bought Bitches Brew by Miles Davis original, but unfortunately, there was a handwritten message on the inside of the gatefold sleeve, so had to say no.

Got this today for £8 and it plays astoundingly well with the volume cranked right up, yas!

Yesterday i ordered Red Fang - Whales and Leeches in store at HMV.

I work in store so staff discount makes this just under £12 but i did it more as a test just to see how long it takes to turn up (or if ir does at all). We're not one of the stores large enough for a dedicated section but maybe it is feasible to special order instead.

Just bought my first new vinyl in two years!

Couldn't resist. The new Music On Vinyl pressing of Faith No More's 'King for a day...fool for a lifetime' on limited edition (1500 worldwide) double red 180g vinyl !

There's one left HERE if you want one. Be quick!

Popped in to my local dealers over the weekend and picked up:

Today postman delivered Arcade Fire - Reflektor

Arrived today, a compilation double LP of Daptone Records artistes (Sharon Jones, Dap-Kings etc.)..

Daptone Gold

Excellent value, new vinyl from that label. Single LPs tend to be around the £8/£10 mark, whilst this double is £13.50. Plus they all come with a free MP3 (320 ) download.

If you're into that old retro soul sound, this is a delight.

just received Pulp Fiction - Soundtrack on Universal Back to Black , tand there is no surface noise , sounds gooood

You may be interested in this singer, she only did the one album, then disappeared completely. She can really sing, a raspy soul voice like no other, and IMO, definitely worth checking if you like Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings.

Original vinyl is rarer than hen teeth, but there are re-issues out there.

Cheers BBB, that sounds right up my street. I will check it out later.

PS That Daptone Gold compilation LP is a stormer, if it don't get your feet tapping then you are officially dead.

Picked up a new 180gm pressing of 'Argus' by Wishbone Ash today from Fopp for £12. Sounds like a superb pressing but unfortunately this one is a bit warped and it almost makes me seasick looking at it! Hope they can get me another copy as I really want this. Sound wise it leaves all the CD versions I've heard for dead.

Would that be Fopp in Manchester MP? I presume that is their only copy, otherwise I'd have a bit of that for £12.
