So this week I sold my old reveicer - my budget Onkyo 576, which I bought in late 2008.

And today I bought Yamaha's RXA-830. Got an ex-demo unit from the wonderful guys at Richer Sounds for £449.

It should be here on Tuesday - what can I expect?!

Sounds like a great deal! almost half price - not sure which speakers you're using though. Yamaha should sound a lot different than the Onkyo. more laid back.

Agree with grdunn.

I will never understand though why people order something blind then ask on a forum what it will be like! If people purchased by demonstration more, there'd be a lot less disappointed people around...

I normally would, but in this case I couldn't as the AV receiver was in Belfast and I'm in Dublin. If I left it until I could get up there, this particular Amp would have been snapped up!
