Hi gel,

Tried a dvd in my PS4 and happy to report that it plays perfectly, obviously the picture will not be as sharp as blu-ray but should be ok for what you need.

Now, on the subject of the PS4 being noisy and getting hot, I strongly disagree with what Blacksabbath25 says, at time of posting this reply I have just turned of my console after 4 hours of gaming, it is cold to the touch all over with no signs of heat anywhere, as to noise when you are wearing headphones and talking to others online, you don't hear anything, I think I said before that any reasonable home cinema amp will drown out any noise coming from the console.

To Blacksabbath25 I suggest that if your PS4 is making excessive noise and/or heating up then to take it back and get a replacement.

i sold it on and brought an xbox 1 which i think is better .

i did find with both Ps3 and Ps4 they were both noisy when the fan kicks in and made my bedroom hot when play games i do not have this issue with the xbox 1 at all how ever long i play it .

so amazed yours does not do the same

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, just been to the City and got a PS3 slim (in red) brand new from Game with two controllers brand new 500gb too for £80 and a one year warranty too! Got 5 games for £6 too. Just set it up, plays DVDs and Blu Rays great, and plays games great, I got it going through my sound system too. Just one issue I can't get master audio or DTS just PCM, where am I going wrong? Cheers!

until I get home from work and actually infront of my Ps3 then I can't help you further.

just one thing, you do have the Ps3 connected to your amp via HDMI.

Cheers guys, I think I am doing it right. It says master audio on the select menu on the controller but just PCM on the amp, but I think that is right? Cheers.

So I got master audio on my Pioneer Blu Ray player, I input the PS3 on exactly the same connections and I get pcm but is it meant to say PCM or master audio on the amp? Cheers.

I have sold it! Didn't get on with charging the controllers constantly, I won't now bother with another one.

Hi gel

you can buy a really cool remote for the Xbox 1 which lights up by touch so when your watching a film in the dark you do not need to look for the buttons

it takes AA battery's so no need to use the controllers if you do not want to .
