I absolutely loved seeing that...!!!You can always rely on audiophiles to recommend a sledgehammer to crack a nut!
.....
It explains so much about how the Northern Audiophiles "assume" they know all the bells & whistles, and consider what THEY have must be the Bees-Knees of Audio systems.
Yeah what a statement.
Has me cracking a smile away down here in the deep (cold) South - of Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand, in the deep South Pacific.
(not too far from Scott Base at Antarctica)
Me - ?
I wouldn't call myself an audio-phile, maybe an audio "rasp"
But not a fine speaking file...
;-)
As for DAC's and high cost audio gear, sadly I've been on an extremely low NZ Govt support since 1990 and even though I own a NZ Company (presumably to hold the name of Waitaki Sound Technologies Limited ?) It doesn't pay it's way - never has, as my WINZ benefits and now my NZ (old age) Superannuation is all it has ever "run-on" thus I buy 2nd hand unless absolutely forced to purchase new (in which case I go for the "in trade" & wholesale reduced prices)..
I would LOVE to know how streaming services work (without costing an arm and a leg) as I recently opened my own website, where I have some STATIC .MP3 audio files and a couple of [links] to some of my Facebook acc's & 1-or-2of my 4 YouTube video acc's, oh & I've already "lost" a Leg & a Foot (BKA) & so don't need to "lose an arm" - as well???.
There's a static (on site) audio player function on my paid-for website I built myself, (it's hosted on Wordpress) so I can't have video's uploaded without a massive hike in the aready expensive "audio file upload upgrade" - but that only allowed a static - audio file uploading feature, where someone else who "comes" onto the site to view & read, can "play the audio files" there (although I deliberately set-it so the "player" opens in a new tab, so that people can continue reading, and if they want to "stop" a track (some are over 2hrs in length) all they need do is close that tab & be able to then start another audio file, (which again - opens in a new tab, to play the next file they select & so on).
I have no "playlists" able to be streamed, and am wondering how I do that, so that people can preselect a set number of tracks, and push PLAY (once) to just listen while they do other things, yet have say an 8hr "streaming" audio run?
Oh & most of the files are on a paid upgraded page called:
https://wildfmradio.com/Audio (as well as being IN a few other pages there)
I can also upload a "picture file" here, as it says, so I'll toss something in that I haven't put UP yet.
My 1965 discovered (innovative invention) that I discovered in 1965 and have made extensive uses of, for the past 60+ years.. being the TEN channels of the pure "Analogue Old-School Format" (thus there are quite a lot of said audio reformatted Transformativeness files - converted into .MP3's using this, that are already up there, on the Wild FM Radio website.
My problem is this, "how do I stream a radio type of website for nix", (or as cheaply as possible) - plus I am looking at options of running a cheap "Low Power FM" Radio Broadcast Station of say 88.8Mhz that will be able to legally transmit up to 3.5miles from here?
= Triple-8 FM (via a genuine 3 channel FM broadcast feature, or if forced down to 2chs ? I can do that as well.
Prefer three channels but could manage with them squashed down into 2chs as I've done, with the website files..
