hi

i am considering a new amp to stream internet radio, connect a usb stick with music on and connect my turntable.

i have a Marantz PM6006 UK int amp, project turntable and dali spektor 1 bookshelf speakers.

i have been looking at the Marantx PM7000N or C-612 amp systems. are they good and will meet my needs?

I use amazon music - not unlimited, and dowloaded music. i also want to listen to the wireless in our new library/relax area in our house. i'd also need a headphone socket or wireless bluetooth connections.

Why not keep your existing amp and just add a streamer to do all the bits your amp doesn't do, one of the WiiM range would probably be best if you use Amazon Music and as your amp has a DAC could probably look at something like the WiiM Pro.

i was going to do that but space wise would be better to have a new streaming amp. or the streamer would be in a cupboard below the current amp. not sure if it would affect it being in a cupboard.

No it wouldn't affect it as the commands come from the network, not IR.

If you were to simply add a streamer to your PM6006 and use the amp's internal DAC, a WiiM Mini would do the trick just fine in your system.

I didn't suggest that as OP wants to use a USB for media and not sure if his current amp has that option, the Mini doesn't but I believe the Pro does.

yes, i'll be using USB devices for my music. i don't have a NAS drive anymore. i'll be connecting purely via wifi but im also upgrading my deco system to something more powerful.

I've just double checked and the Pro won't play files from a memory stick, it will however play files stored elsewhere on a network / NAS.

The Ultra is the lowest in their range that plays them from a memory stick, they often have sale on and with Easter round the corner may do then, have seen them at £289.

Not sure which Decos you have, I tried the BE25's 1st and they were "OK", I also tried an X50 which the speed was quite good but it's WiFi range very limited.
I do like my BE65's though .... I have 3 across the house, the 2nd is set up as an access point and the 3rd as wireless in the most distant part of the house and get 850 down / upload speeds.
