Wishful thinking, If I had £5k to spend on HiFi, what will be first on my list?

I know, I have itchy fingers again, could be costly 🙂

If I had some spare change, I would invest in Eversolo DAC Streamer combination T8-Z10, not just for the sound but for overall user interface experience.
Any cash left from the purchase, I would consider upgrading the Dali's to something better.

What are your wishful thoughts?

I don't think I could do it as it would totally unbalance my system!

However, if forced I'd look to replace my Node Icon with a British-made streamer of some sort. I know Naim do some fancy streamers at (and miles above!) a £5k price point, so maybe one of those. But streamers for me feel like the hardest part of a Hi-Fi setup to justify big spend on.

Best £5k you would ever spend. Get your room fully acoustically treated
Bass Traps , Diffusers / Absorptions Room is 75% of your sound
Crap speakers in a good room will sound better than Good speakers in a Crap room
If your partner wont allow panels Active acoustics

I like the idea of 5K£, which is nearly 6K€ on our continent. With this money, I will search for better speakers. Something like used Focal Kanta 3 or Triangle Cello 40 or Acoustic Energy Corinum. Most difficult will be to hide this activity, not to be discovered by my wife...😉.

That would be a whole new system for me, no idea what it would be, I could go window shopping and work something out but would it sound that much different with the law of diminishing returns etc? Not sure it would be worth it to be honest.

If amplification was my priority, I would go for the Atoll Evo IN400 (dual mono) but currently selling £5.5K, possibly find cheaper, open box, demo or used.

In any case, there would be no sense in this purchase because I would need to upgrade the speakers and this would take me way above the 5K threshold limit.
It is on my radar, possibly a purchase in the near future.

Rated at 160w 8ohms or 300w 4ohms.

I think it's an odd question to answer.
Is £5k starting from scratch or upgrading an existing system?
Open question AI, for £5K you can put together your budget system or use £5K to replace an existing component, such as, change your speakers, amp, DAC etc.

I think if you're looking to replace your mid range system, you're looking in excess of £15K or possibly more.
Oh my goodness, HiFi isn't cheap, neither is photography or PC upgrades....I should have stuck with stamp collecting when I had the chance! 🙂
