WHF Team: Marantz cd player 5003 or 6002???

Hi. I've been offered a Marantz cd 5003 from richer sounds as a vip customer for £149 normally £199. However, what I like to buy is the marantz cd 6002 for £229. Both models have 5 star ratings. but the latter is the best buy under £300 in WHF magazine. Is there a huge difference in sound quality if I choose to buy the one that richer sounds is offering to me? I will partner it to my Onkyo 606. How would you compare the two models? Which one should I get? Please help me decide. Cheers!

Hi Liujol,

I am also looking at pairing my Onkyo 606 with either the Marantz CD 5003 or the Cambridge Audio 540C. It'll be interesting to see what options are available.

I'd go for the CD6002. For us it is clearly the better machine even taking the price difference into account.
