Another one picked up recently. I'd never heard it before, but liking both of the artists a great deal thought I'd take a punt and see how it went.

What a pleasant surprise, I'm really enjoying it. Recorded in 1976, and produced by Glyn Johns, the session musicians in tow is like a Who's Who of 70's British rock.. Clapton, Watts, Entwistle, Rabbit and a few more.

The title sums it up, but its bloody good..

Yeah, soz 'bout that.

I listened to the whole thing and I gotta say, i'm really getting the whole opera thing now. When they hit those prolonged high notes, i'm goosebump boy.

If you're into opera, FD, what's your fave?

Dont really have a favourite bretts to be honest. Yup the goosebumps can hit big time. A couple of months ago i was near Saltzburg, and went to a couple of shows. One was The Barber of Seville, the young lass who sang Rosinas part was hitting notes i thought impossible. Dunno about goosebumps, the hairs on the back of my neck were giving it some anaw.

The Barber Of Seville that I have, with Callas, is my favourite of the three operas that i've heard.

I want 'Grace' on vinyl, but don't fancy the prices that i've seen the originals go for. I bet 'Hallelujah' sounds amazing. Is yours an original, or the remastered re-issue?

Not an opera fan by any means, far from it, but just a question please.

In that scene with Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia", near the end just before he dies, who is the female singer belting out the song?

I've always been impressed with how well that music worked in that scene.

floyd droid:1994 Columbia orig. The remastered is pretty good by all accounts. Bloody good album straight through bretts.

It's one of my favourite albums of all time. I agree that there's not a single duffer on the whole thing. If you say the re-master's a good 'un, then that's good enough for me. Off to Amazon I go.....

EDIT: Done job. £23 from Amazon. Says it's an import collector's edition, but doesn't give any details of what's different to the vanilla re-master.

Lost Angeles:

An album which a fair few people on these forums have bashed, but my copy sounded superb tonight.

Not me, Guv! ''Rumours' and 'Tango...' sound blumming fantastic.

I've got the original pressing, which sounds great. I was just at amazon, to get the album picture, and saw that they are doing the 2010 180g release for £12. Great price, for anyone who's interested.

Your Carole King album sleeve reminded me of wondering whether anyone's heard the vinyl version of the soon to be ubiquitous, Seasons of my soul by Rumer.

I love the CD, and with one or two exceptions I don't/won't buy new contemporary vinyl, but I'm curious about the vinyl version.

The whole Karen Carpenter/Dusty Springfield vibe seems, however illusory, more conducive to vinyl.

Or maybe I'll just wait for the audio Blu-ray version!!!

Has it been released on vinyl? I haven't been able to find it.
