I've always had a constant response to any of these questions: Don't just choose one format, embrace as many formats as you can.

I have both analogue and digital, with the exception of streaming. I can't have it the internet connection is awful where we live.
I have to admit that for many years, I did give up on CD and Records, looking with a little bemusement at folks that spend on either when we have the fantastic world of streaming. I fully embraced it and of course still do.

It was only fairly recently that I decided that I wanted to collect music again, but only a small collection of very long standing favourites and only the best of those, at sometimes considerable cost (vinyl). No more blind buys, bargain basement buys, thrift stores ... etc. . I also put in a fair amount of due diligence in finding good examples.

So I bought a CD transport and Record deck. Since then I probably have bought 40 cd's and perhaps the same amount of vinyl. I can't tell where it will end up but I will never ever have a lot of either again. When reaching a hundred each I may even implement a one in one out rule. If it's good enough for Starmer ... . This way I can ensure I will always listen to them occasionally. Streaming is still priority and probably takes up 80 or 90% of use.

I never understand how folks that have thousands can actually find the time to listen to them in which case they just become dust collecting space huggers.
