Hi Jim,

Any sentence that combines "Drama" and "Edexcel" gives me a chill. We abandoned them a few years ago and gleefully returned to the AQA fold. The latter having revoked their set text stipulation that had led us to Edexcel in the first place!!! Good luck with your GCSE classes.

I've Spotified the aforementioned Andy Pratt. It's really good. Of it's time, but very affecting. I've had the house to myself this afternoon so it's been loud blasts of:

Blood & Chocolate - EC/Attractions

Lucky Bag - Electronic b-side. Electro-pop, instrumental brilliance.

Electric - Pet Shop Boys (The Vinyl Factory edition)

Force - A Certain Ratio

Their last magnificent album? I think so anyway.

John Renbourn/Stefan Grossman Live LP.

Stage Fright - The Band

Glad you checked Andy Pratt; yes, of its time for sure.

Stage Fright is a great record, Charlie. I think it hold up well next to' 'Big Pink' and 'The Band.'

I wanted to go with AQA but Edexcel was preferred. The coursework is a nightmare. It'll be all over the place as per usual. Looking forward to being a valued helper rather than a member of staff!

Quintessenc-In Blissful Company. Great hippy record. Brilliant spacey lead guitar player.

If you haven't heard it, try 'Dive Deep' by Quintessence, really good :)

Looks like cardboard cut-out time again...

Yep, I like 'Dive Deep' and the self-titled, 'Quintessence'. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Larry Coryell, now there's a great guitarist. I've got his early stuff, electric and acoustic, and he can play a bit. All good stuff in this list. Ya gotta love Monk.

Who me? Ilfracombe Street Market, which despite the name, isn't on the street, it's indoors (I don't know, they're very odd in Ilfracombe). There was one stall with two boxes of really poor condition stuff that they wanted up to a fiver for, and then an "Everything in this box £1", all of which I think must have come from the same collection because it was all typically 50s and 60s mono pressings and all pretty much immaculate, which is where I found that.
