Fat Mattress-Fat Mattress

I love this album. My brother has it on original vinyl. I used to listen to a recording of it from my teens until I gave up with compact cassettes. I recently purchased it on CD; the best option I could find.

I'm really glad that somebody else likes it! I found an original a few months ago but it's a bit battered; I may have to get the cd unless I can find a better copy. Having said that, I've got a soft spot for crackly old records. I was surprised just how good it was and I really love it too.

Regards.

Jimbob - whats the SQ like on Savages?

I saw this album in my local HMV, and I think it was around the £12 mark.

I've heard "Husbands", and liked it, but I am a bit concerned that they're Siouxsie copyist, and nothing new.

What's the album like Jimbo?

Savages is a good album, I know what you mean about being Siouxsie (& the Banshees, Steve) but they are more than that. SQ is ok, it is on clear vinyl, they are better live!

Malcolm McLaren & the Bootzilla Orchestra - Waltz Darling (this is my test disk and boy is it singing now, the Nag is rally digging it out)

Thanks Jimbo, I'll consider a purchase, though a Savages gig sounds like a better experience.

Yes Steve, I thought Husbands sounded very much like early Siouxsie & The Banshees, but I'm guessing there's other influences such as Gang Of Four, Joy Division, PIL, and maybe even PJ Harvey.

The The - Mindbomb

Followed by Rattle and Hum. :shifty:

Harsh!

Having listed to and loved Mezzanine and particularly Teardrop there was only one way to go

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

Hopefully Steve will take it well.

I'd love that album, I have Garlands and Victorialand, but I'm always on the look out for the others.

Heaven or Las Vegas is one of my favourite albums. Must have been one of the last I bought on vinyl before I started bought my first hifi system that was Rotel amp, Celestion speakers, Rega TT, Yamaha cassette and Technics CD player and started to but it all on cd, before that has a Panasonic all in one save for cd.. So glad I got it on vinyl, is sounding rather nice tonight. A housemate at college had all the Cocteau Twins on vinyl and I taped them off him but loved Heaven I had to forgoe a few pints and buy it for myself
