The Birthday of the Infanta - Zemlinsky/Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra

The Rite Of Spring - Stravinsky/ LPO/Haitink

My Dad chose these two for an afternoon of listening yesterday. Sounded great. Full fat orchestral blast.

Then later on more Bob:

Another Self-Portrait

Blonde On Blonde

New Morning

Do yourself a favour and get the Hovercraft albums Charlie.

if Spotify-able , I'll give it a whirl. If not, what kind of thing is it, BBB?

(Love the Add N To X album. Have it a CD. I remember playing it loads when it came out).

Both albums are on Blast First (which will give you a clue), and they supported Add N to X on a tour of the UK. That was some gig.
They're an instrumental, avant-garde, experimental sonic force. Drums, bass and guitar, though all the experimentation comes from the guitarist. They fluctuate between ambience and noise in a heartbeat, and the tracks rarely stay in the same groove for long, they're almost organic, living tunes.
It's not for everyone, it's definitely not catchy or tuneful, but it's a real experience.

Stunning!!! Sold to the man in Wakefield.

(think it'll be one of those "my wife's gone out for the evening" plays though)

l'll ask the guys at Jumbo if they can get hold of vinyl copies.

Which albums would you recommend?

There's only two (Akathisia/Experiment Below), though they did some kind of ep/album with Mary Hansen from Stereolab just before she was killed under the name Schema (I think). It's definitely not music to play at a party, or as you say, when the wife is in. The gigs were fantastic, they just created the soundtrack to a really abstract black and white film that was on the screen behind them. I only went to the formentioned gig to see them, and they were awesome. Add N to X were good, but people were putting in ear plugs when they came on, and pretty soon after I realised why. I left after 3 or 4 songs, it was just too physically painful.

Edit: There's also some remix stuff they did with Scanner, which is good.

I'd highly recommend this album, for both the quality of the production/vinyl sound quality, and the fact that it's an absolute corker of an album.

BBB I fancy that Marley lp. You heard from that seller

I've got a load more Marley records, but I love that album, especially the lesser known tracks.

The seller hasn't got back to me yet, and I've noticed that there are far fewer sellers selling the record, and also the price has gone up.
