Aja - Steely Dan

Social Folk - Critics' Group

Axis - Pet Shop Boys 12"

Pop - Erasure

The Best Of - John Denver

Another Self-Portrait - Bob Dylan

And heresy:

A stack of Dylan SACDs. Initially a strange sound to my ears. Very detailed and airy but almost too bright and big. Compared a few (Desire, Bringing It All Back Home, Blonde on Blonde) to the vinyl and CDs and found myself enjoying the SACDs a lot more than at first. I've only got 2-channel playback, so I can't comment on the 5.1 mixes. Dylan in 5.1 just seems silly and unnecessary. Is that the same for all audio-only in 5.1?

Then back to black again with:

The Royal Scam - Steely Dan
Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

The Aphex Twin was just unplayable, and I remember the first 2 copies I bought of Laughing Stock by Talk Talk a year ago were pretty poor soundwise.

Do you think it's bandwagon jumping?

Do you think all these pressings are legit?

I know for certain that there are plenty of illegal repressings around, but I'm not sure how the likes of Amazon would be duped into selling them.

I've never heard a decent pressing of this unfortunately, from the original through to the represses of recent years. I have several other LPs pressed by the same record label (R&S/Apollo) and they are all problematic in one way or another, which is such a shame as the music deserves so much more.

Can't work out if I have a crackly copy, or if it's all the samples crackling, but it's a stupendous album though.

You can get it pretty cheap on Discogs.

I've never heard the Burrows/Heroes album, will have to see if I can get a copy.

Sam Brown - April Moon

Lovely album by a great singer who only seems to turn up with Jools Holland these days.

Kate Bush - The Hounds Of Love

A masterpiece from a true legend who has produced more than her fair share of brilliant albums.

Just spinning Hounds of Love on the RP6 & Elicit - been away with work & hols for last few weeks - I'm gobsmacked at how much control the Elicit has over the RS3s - the Brio was a cracking amp but list it's way a bit when I pushed the volume, however the Elicit is kicking ass - I guess this is what I should expect for an amp costing 3 x the Brio R ?
