Sure he'll give it a good go...:)

Well I paid an extortionate amount today for a bespoke coax cable to go between my Humax and the TV. (My old Ixos lead - from the old 'set-top box' days of 5 years ago - is a yucky grey/silver colour, way too long, and as flexible as Stalin!)

The wonderful people of ATV Aerials in Sheffield (their website is my 'bible' in all things Aerial related) are making up a white, 1 metre long 'fly lead' from top quality double screened (copper braid/copper foil) 75 ohm cable and brass coax plugs.

They had the temerity to charge 65p for cable, 75p (each) for the brass coax plugs, £2.00 for labour and £3.50 for postage :)

I was prepared to pay this King's ransom just to neaten up the back of the TV a bit. (Another too long, too ugly, cable bites the dust.)

Well got the new toy. Not the Sony that John suggested. No other reason other than most branches had sold out and the ones that had it said they were ex-dem and damaged, hence the huge price drop.

In the end, after visiting Richer at Reigate, seeing various other makes, decided on a LG 32". Absolutely gorgeous picture; clarity and detail is superb.

Yet to fine tune it but it has a 'Energy saving' button which dulls the whole panarama. Not a good option unless you have a migraine. The preferred setting is 'Sport'. That seems to give the best stability. Motion seems fine [briefly] with motor racing... the acid test will be the football.

Thanks to Stuart at Richer Sounds (Reigate) who chucked in a free TV stand.

Overall a very happy bunny.
