What are Epos 12.2 speakers like with Cyrus gear?

Hello all,

I've just been upgrading my system on a reasonable budget, and having obtained a Cyrus CD8 and Cyrus 8VS I'd like to upgrade my Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 which are now the weak link in the system.

I've been offered a pair of Epos 12.2's for £250 - are these a good match for the system (I've heard that they are quite lean, so may not partner than well with Cyrus?) or should I hold out for something else that people could recommend?

No, they are not. The sound will be extremely lean and unbearable over extended listening. I had a Cyrus 6 CD and Amp combo with EPOS M12's and they were too much to my ears.

Change of speaker cables and interconnects did not do the trick either. This is my opinion.

The combinaton is unlikely to sound shy and retiring...

However, if the speakers are in good condition, then that is an attractive price. You could buy, try, and then flog the speakers on eBay if you find that the combo doesn't suit you and you would be unlikely to lose any money.
