Hope everyone had a great Xmas..!

JL have replaced my set, which well arrive this Saturday. Not only that, they ended up refunding me £200 as the set had dropped in price. Wo, hoooo! I had bought it for £1200 and loved it, at £1000 mm, mmm, mmmm! Lol.

I must add JL have taken care of me with no headache! Excellent CS!!

P.s. can someone please post settings for this set.. As a reference point!

Thanks.

It took me three attempts. First one would buzz on and off, second one was really loud but did calm down, third one is perfect! John Lewis will let you get one that is right and it is so worth it.

Three attempts.. Oh boy. Knowing my luck, I'll prob go through that.. Lol. My one buzzed slightly, sometimes not at all. But, when the two lines appeared I could not ignore that..! I was running the tv in, so I really haven't seen the potential of the set!! Can't wait to to play God Of War, watch films And sport.

Quite a few of us pounced at £999 (and managed to get extras thrown in, too).

Incidentally, the 50GT50 + BDP + 3D glasses + 3D films + 5 yr guarantee offer is no longer available. JL are out of stock. I had to arrange this with my local branch, which luckily had 1 of each left. Seems we got in there just in time.

Now we're all hoping for the same thing: a GT50 without noticeable DSE that doesn't buzz to a distracting level. The tension is killing me already!

Civilian, you (and others that got the GT50 bundle deal) might be interested in this "mini" (yet in fact technically thorough) review of the Panasonic 120EB BDP:

For me, if the operating noise is tolerable, and differences between PCM via optical and DTS HDMA aren't glaring, it should be a winner.

Thanx for that.. I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to AV, my info is gathered my your replies/comments made on here.. Hence buying the set. I find the BR player to b good to my eyes.. Upscales DVD really well..! Having got it with the set, I'm content with this for now. Can anyone recommend a HDMI Cable...

That's a dangerous question to ask on a forum such as this! My advice would be: buy a cheap cable. As long as it's built sturdily enough to not fall apart and cause data interruption (i.e. complete loss of data) you'll be perfectly fine.

Did you get the Panasonic Blu-ray player already, then? If so, how is it in operation? Is it a noisy machine? Can you hear the drive whirring while playing discs? Cheers.

I was given the BR player first time around. I've never noticed any noise when I've been playing films through it. The 30 seconds of the disk loading is the only noise that is noticeable.. And that's expected! Packed TV away just now, feel sad. But, tomorrow new set should arrive. Issue free, touch wood.

I've actually enjoyed the BR player, better then I expected. Up scaling is really good, saying that its my only BR player so I cant compare with anything!!!

I was given a similar excuse. It's silly. I was actually thinking yesterday night.. 2013 is upon is in a few days.. Is it worth waiting for the new models.. ?

When I first ordered mine on the Wednesday, they couldn't arrange delivery because of some sort of system crash.

Could this system crash have affected your order, and maybe there were orders that have gone missing?
