Using a Denon DM35 with HD TV - advice please.

Hi,

I currently have my CRT TV sound connected to my Denon DM35 mini system using the analogue outputs from the TV to the Aux connections on the amp.

The HD TV I am buying has an optical S/PDIF out and the Denon also has an optical S/PDIF connection but this also marked as out. As they both have S/PDIF connections, can I transfer the TV sound to the Denon using this connection and would there be any advantage in doing so?

'Fraid not: optical connections only work in one direction, so you can't connect an output to an output.
