Unversal player vs dedicted players?

Morning ppl,

Would a seperate cdp and bdp priced at around £250-300ish out perform say a marantz UD7006 in the respected areas? Apologies if this has been asked before 🙂

All I can say is that the Marantz + a good DAC will perform as good as a CD player. You can always add the DAC if you're not happy with Marantz.

What does your experience with your CA 650BD (seen in your signature) tell you about universal players vs seperates?

I've never had a dedicated cdp to compare the difference. If i knew the answer to your question i woulnd't have posted!

I'd stick with the 650BD. I compared it to a Marantz CD6003 and the 650BD was on a par. You might get a better on-screen interface with a different BD player but I don't think you'd gain anything else.
