My ClearAudio is much better. I know many in the know suggest ClearAudio is AT in a different frock. I can tell you now they sound very different.

for what it's worth, and it isn't cheap, I am led to believe that replacing the turntable mat with a Thorens leather one can lead to noticeable improvements and might move worth looking into in future if funds allow.Cleaned up the platter today ( I know that it won't stay that way ) the AT-VM95 cartridge is ordered arriving tomorrow. I am away till Friday then I will be fixing the cartridge to the arm / wand and finishing the set up ready to start using it.

Well you must have read the 2m was shot out of the running and I listened the advise given and bought the AT instead. Thats what the forum is for advise for those that need it.Not at all. Just trying to be honest.
Nice.Today I have managed to fit hinges to my Place on dust cover for my Thorens TD 147.
It is much better than having to remove the cover every time I play a record.

This is my 160S. Just had to hack the baseboard to fit the RCA sockets.
(Mains and signal cables were a bit too close together in the original exit point, so I put a bit of distance between them at the same time).
....there was that thread from someone that only got rid of hum after changing from very expensive to very cheap cable - the basic evidently had better RFI immunity 🤔All ready now for a set of really expensive RCA cables
