The Finishing Touches

So I now have my DAC (Beresford), amp (PM6002) and speakers (Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s) and I now to do get info on the 'finishing touches' so to speak - getting the best from my system.

JD advised solid stands to me - if only I could fit them in! So failing them, what is the next best? Do they make desktop stands (speakers placed on a desk, ya see)?

Dare I mention cable? Will mains cable do the job? Failing that, what are the cheap(er) options? Currently I am using cheap cable I already had which is about 1mm in diameter. I presume this is a pretty bad thing.

Have some pictures.

It was my pleasure. I was just disappointed not to get to go into Superfi and spend your money vicariously.

I'll leave this one to others I think, fatboy's got it covered already.........

It isn't a nice desk anyway... I'll look into making spikes (I have (access) to lathes and all that). How tall are spikes normally?

Edit: Just read Clare's post. Those feet are for just the electronics (amp/DAC)?

Interesting point actually. I don't get how a speaker support (as opposed to component support, which I do get) could work if it's compliant - surely in order to get speakers working at their best they should be rock solid (as well as not transmitting vibration)?

I used to love those speakers, easily fills up a room with warm sound. How close are you sitting next to that desk mate? If you give them some breathing space, am sure they will shine in your setup!

Well I sit pretty close when using the computer and just casually listening but when I am just listening to the music or watching a film I sit a couple of metre away or so.

I will get onto splitting that blu-tack right now, then, thanks.
