I always had a cinema pass £9.99 per month to begin with, £19.99 these days.
Cube on blu ray - an ultra low budget Canadian SF/horror/thriller. Premise is that a group of strangers find each other in a vast structure made of cubes - many of which are booby-trapped - and how they try to escape. A really interesting idea, but the execution and acting does leave something to be desired.

One for the Blu-ray crew: are there any good box sets of modern classic films in 4k ultra?

I saw it at the cinema and really enjoyed it. I don't think I have seen it again since!

I recently rewatched the low budget cyberpunk masterpiece Hardware for the first time in ages.
Are there any fans of Richard Stanley out there? He made two great low budget movies in the early 90s, the cyberpunk Hardware and eerie, dreamy horror Dust Devil.
He was then replaced on the troubled shoot of The Island of Dr. Moreau, and didn’t direct another film until the bonkers but brilliant H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color Out of Space in 2019.
He hasn’t made another film since, but has indicated that it will be the first in a Lovecraft trilogy, the next being an adaptation of The Dunwich Horror.
Any fans of genre movies should checkout Hardware and Dust Devil.

There's a Columbia set, but these are mostly older films. Box sets seem to be films plus sequels, though there's a Christopher Nolan set which at least spreads its wings a bit. You might be better picking a few genuine favourites.

I've been meaning to watch the documentary Lost Soul, about his doomed Dr. Moreau project as it's on one of the streaming services I have. I own Hardware, Dust Devil, and Dagon. I have seen The Colour Out Of Space, which I need to see again, but Nicolas Cage is putting me off that!
Prey on C4 - a Predator prequel. Enjoyed it, better acting and cinematography than any of the other parts of the franchise that I've seen (could be argued that's not the highest of bars), but not one I think I'll be buying.
Shrek on 4k - great film - the part where John Cale's Hallelujah plays is marvellous, and reminds me of how Alan Moore's graphic novels use images that parallel when changing scenes. Very clever.
Beetlejuice on 4k - can't see how anyone could have bettered Keaton in the role. Have heard good things about the (very) belated sequel, but not seen it.

United 93 on blu ray - the story of the plane that didn't reach it's target on 9/11. Scenes in the plane largely guessed-at from snatches of radio, mobile calls and the planes behaviour, air traffic control etc includes many of the people from the day playing themselves, which must have been strange. Still evokes the same mix of sadness, anger, frustration as that dreadful day itself. A great film.

The Great Escape on 4k - hardly the best advert for the format, but a great film anyway.
I read an account of what actually happened by a chap called Paul Brickhill, and what stuck with me most is that the drawing of the stove that concealed one of the tunnel entrances was uncannily like it looks in the film.

Life from C4 - a pretty derivative SF set aboard the ISS. Acting pretty good, ditto effects. Basic idea OK, creature pretty poor, behaviour of crew in terms of adhering to procedures - risible. ISS 'catching' the probe without being throw out of orbit or into a massive spin - you've got to be kidding...
