Hi

I have a KEF3005 5.1 speaker setup; the old one not the new SE model. I am thinking of replacing the front left and right with Tannoy DC6T speakers and using the current KEF front left and right speakers for surround rears, giving me a 7.1 channel system, with better speakers for stereo. I currently have a Pioneer VSX-LX70 receiver but, ultimately, I would look at a separate amplifier for the Tannoys.

Is this a good idea?

Thank you

Yes this is a good idea. The improvement in performance going to the Tannoys will be huge and adding 7.1 is always a good plan if you have the room. I would look to get a Tannoy arena centre at the same time or consider the DC4/6 LCR if you have the space.

The Tannoys will match really well with the Pioneer.
