Sony XM4 latest firmware (2.6) has totally messed up the sound - anyone else found this?

Anyone else notice the difference in sound after updating the firmware to 2.6? The sound is horrible now when you reach 75% - it goes loud but the bass disappears and it's left with quite a horrid and harsh mess.

I was totally in awe of these headphones before, not I just want to throw them in the bin.

(Anyone know how to revert back to previous firmware or factory firmware? I carried out a factory reset but that does not revert the firmware - that in itself should be illegal as it means obsolescence can be introduced through a firmware 'upgrade' which is actually a downgrade)

Try to contact Sony to see if they can be of any assistance.

Yes, contact SONY via their website, they will call you and walk through some troubleshooting. If not resolved, request to escalate to R&D or replace in in warranty.
I have recently had them remove several non-working apps for older (non-Android) smart-TV and BDPs that way. Less crud = less confusion, less complaints from second hand buyers...
