What seems to be the right thing to do with this player is update the firmware to Profile 2.0 using the internet but then for the quickest loading speeds to leave it connected to the internet.

Now this would obviously be done using the ethernet port but could you use the USB input to connect wirelessly using a USB style receiver for computers? I assume this is a no but i was just pondering and why not?

Dont think you can use the USB port, thats for a memory stick only. Sony recommend either using the ethernet port or downloading and burning to a disc on your computer.Always use the ethernet myself and never had a problem but I don't leave it permanantly connected. BTW if you go ethernet route you will need a memory stick of at least 1gb in the usb port.
