Hello, i curently owe sony receiver 1200es, and about two months ago i bought player bd 550. Because receiver doesn't have hd decoding build in im using players onboard decoders, conected via 8 quinex qed q1 interconects. Im only wondering, if im experiencing same HD surround quality, as i would if i had say, sony2400es and used amp decoder and hdmi connections.Would be there any difference between those two receivers,in the sound quality? then i have pioneer dv 668s whitch i used like a sacd/ cd player, but now i have nowhere to connect it, if i want 5.1 sacd sound. Changin receiver to 2400es,would solved my connection problem, would it improve sound quality as well, or its just a waist of money? Speakers are kef kht1005, and projector sony vpl aw15. Thank you!

Yes, the 2400 will both solve your connection problems and give an improvement in sound. But it will arguably be too good for your speakers, and would benefit from an upgrade in that department.
