Quick advice needed for 2nd hand deal just come up ..

Hi

I've been entertaining the idea of beefing up the sound on my TV/Blu-ray/Games console setup.

At first I thought of an AV amp (e.g. Onkyo 309 etc).

But then this would really be to generally beef up the sound & music output, not really moving to surround etc.

My friend is selling his Eltax symphony 8.2 speakers & Marantz PM66 SE amp.

Would these be a good bet for what I want ?

If so, what sort of price ?

If you're just playing through your TV speakers I would imagine it'd be a pretty good step up. I'm not especially familiar with the above components but Marantz tend to do some pretty good stuff. At £70 for the lot I'd just go ahead and grab it!

Last PM66SE went for 130 on eBay. Bit inflated (50-70 is more normal), but hey...
