Grant,

Can you tell me when you are expecting the 46"HX903 in Sony Centre's please. Reason I'm asking is that I was waiting "patiently" for this TV to be released however this morning my old Panasonic CRT gave up the ghost so time is of the essence!

I've asked my local Sony store, but they really didn't help, and it was expected originally at the end of June, which has been and gone. Any info you can give me will help make up my mind interms of what I do next.

Cheers

Hi ukpcum1.the sony kdl46hx903 in due in the uk at the end of july,this is due to a panel shortage.but rest assured there will be stock,from what i im told..sony centre's,harrods,will have a two month head start..and the multi-chains will not be selling this top-end model.Hope that helps you a little,oh the price start from £2800.00 for a 40".

why dont u just go for the panny instead? you will be waiting for a while for the sony the specs on the panny r pretty good so whats holding u back?

If your talking about the VT20, 50" will be too big for me room, plus I don't like the look of the Panasonic's, far too bulky for my liking, so thats why I had plumped for the Sony.

Thanks Grant, really appreciate you getting back to me, so Sony will have the sets at the end of July and that will be 2 months before the rest of the retail trade will be able to stock them. Also just to confirm the price, I thought the 46"HX903 was £2500, has the price increased then or were you referring to the LX range?

The 46" will be in the £2200-£2500 region, the 52" will be in the £2800-£3000 region at launch. Sets will be in specialist shops around the same time as the Sony Centre's.

I have been waiting for this model to stock for sometime and a review, looks like the wait will go on!.

Thanks to the two "trade linked" posters for being more informative than the Sony UK website

Yes thanks guy's for the info, I think I'll decide to wait hopefully get one around the end of July as only 4 weeks to wait plus I do have a LCD small Samsung LCD in the conservatory that will do for the time being.

Sorry,yes the price i gave you was for the top-end lx range,the hx range will start at £2200.00..with two pairs of glasses..and various package deals on offer through sony centres.sorry about the confusion,as im getting very exited about the top-end range,the hx803 range are really selling well,and are stunning tv,s in there own right.

Thanks Grant - don't supposed you've had a sneak preview of the TV and also what the likely deals are to be?

@ukpcum1

Yeah can confirm the price for the 46" is £2500. With a little haggling my local store offered it to me for £2600 with two pairs of glasses and a transmitter on 12 months interest free credit. It would probably be £2500 for just one pair of glasses, he mentioned there is very little margin on the glasses so any discount was soaked up by the TV itself.

Also interested to hear if there are any standard deals coming with release.

Just checked the Sony website and they have updated the delivery date to mid-August for the HX903!
