Pioneer BDP-320 vs. Sony BDP-S760 both 5 stars???

In the review list they sell for the same price, but the Sony has wifi and 7.1 analog outs. Shouldn't the BDP-320 lose one star? Isn't the Sony the new king of the 400 pound hill?

Quite possibly so, but we're in the process of reevaluating a range of products in line with the newer Award winners - should see some changes (if necessary) on the site within the next few days.

How do they compare for CD playback via analogues, although Sony have made some good budget CD players, I'd expect Pioneer to come out on top there?

Am really looking forward to this... Blu-ray upgrade on hold.

As always the Awards issue was excellent. Does it often happen that a product, (e.g. Sony BDP-S760), gets a first test & product of the year in the same issue? (I know it can't happen more than once a year lol

). I'm quite interested in the review process... how long do you have products on test before going to print?

There are actually a few products that get both their First Test debut and an Awards win in that issue - it's because the products are so new, the Awards issue is often the first time we can review them (either because we've just received them - as in the case of the Monitor Audio Silver RX package - or because they're only due to go on sale around the same time).

We were Awards testing all summer, choosing our favourites then comparing those against the new products as they came in. The last Awards contenders came into our office mid-September; the Awards issue went to print from 1st October.

Well on thw reviewof the S760 it mentions the lower spec models dont have the 8 chanel analogue outputs...doesn't the S5500 have them?
