I have heard so many mixed reports now I don't know what to think. Tried calling Optimum who told me it was 70KG, but then I read on many websites it's 75kg per shelf. Or 100 - 120kg overall. Any ideas? Cheers.

Its got 10mm toughened safety glass. If that helps, eh?

Just the basics, TV, amp Blu Ray player and centre speaker. It should be fine but just checking as Optimum have told me mixed things.

If Optimum themselves are telling you different things, how can you believe what a forum member says, who would've got the information from Optimum themselves! *unknw*
True, I am guessing it's 100kg. That sounds about right.

find out how much each piece weighs then add it up, your amp will probably be the heaviest.

100kg sounds about right for a guess total amount that it can handle but in reality your equipment will only come in at just over a quarter of that.

update: just found a website saying that each 10mm shelf will take 75kg, so times three is 225kg your floor (if its wooden) will give way long before you break a shelf.

Yep, I found that one too! That surely can't be right, can it? Others say 100 kg in total.

Just phoned Optimum again, and they are saying 100kg per shelf, but keep it safe at 70 kg otherwise it may bend a bit. So what a stand! It takes loads of weight. *clapping*

From memory standard home floor rating is 500 kg per square metre.

Unless you buy a flat built by Stuart Milne in Aberdeen....

(Google the story - his company built some new flats back in the noughties. A buyer there threw a flat warming party and their kitchen floor collapsed!!
