Today i have listen to a NAD amp with MA RX6 speakers. Disappointment. The highs were so shrill and bright. the cdp was a Arcam fmj 17. Then the Arcam A18 amp. Much, much better. no brightness. Beter balance.

So far is Arcam the best amp for me. I've no heard a Roksan kandy k2. The dealer of this brand has no MA.

The dealer also advise to buy a streamer and no cdp. 31 december 2012 is the end of cd he said. He advise me a Olive 03HD.

The end of cd...?! That's new to me...? Someone one day said the same about the vinyl records...

But if you want to stream you have cheaper streamers, like the Squeezebox touch or Pioneer N30... I've haven't heard the Olive is too expensive for my pocket...

You've answered your own question. You think Arcam is much better. End of.

That dealer is talking rubbish. He would advise the Olive because that's £900+ where the Arcam CD17 is retailing around £500. If you go the digital route look at thee something like the Marantz NA7004 streamer (£429), including FM/DAB radio. otherwise Arcam CD17 is ideal. Sorted.

Great news! Truly, great news! Perhaps the greatest news!

It's true, it has been foretold. I would advise everyone to make sure that they have ripped all their CDs by this date, as CDs will cease to exist from this point. This will be the beginning of the end. Repent sinners!

By the way; streaming must for me gapless. And i hate and have no fun ripping my 500 cd's. So he advise the Olive.

I listened to the RX6 with a Primare I21 and the Arcam A18 and the Arcam sounded better to my ears, warm and nice without brightness. I also listened to the Kef R500 and the RX8 on the Arcam and that was a huge improvement to the sound. The price is a bit higher but it is definately worth to listen before you decide.

It was a NAD C326. I don't know if the NAD C356 sounds better. I will hear this by another dealer who has more.

I will hear (again) the Arcam a18 with fmj17 cdp against the NAD C356 with the C546 cdp. It was a surprise that the Arcam with my music, most metal, sounds so good.
